Computed Tomography CT Angiography
This is a very new examination which is being performed at DMH
routinely. It requires the rapid administration of intravenous contrast but no oral
contrast. Most people get a warm sensation or even a hot flash during this study due to
the way the contrast is delivered so don't let this surprise you. This study is performed
for the evaluation of the blood vessels anywhere in the body. Common reasons for this
study are arterial blockages, aneurysms, blood clots, and the evaluation of strokes.
