DMH Offers Friday Night Sports Injury Clinic
September 30, 2008, Decatur, Ill…Whether you’ve suffered an injury from football, soccer or any other sport, Decatur Memorial Hospital Sports Medicine Department is open from 9 to 11 p.m. on Friday nights to check out your injury. The Friday Night Sports Injury Clinic is located in DMH Emergency Care Center/Orthomed area during regular football season. No appointment is necessary.
The clinic, which began in 2001, is conducted by Wendell W. Becton, MD, Sports Medicine Specialist, who oversees the provision of athletic trainer services to 10 area high schools. The clinic includes an evaluation and diagnosis of injuries, followed by necessary treatment to get you back in the game as soon as possible. Patients at DMH have access to advanced technology onsite such as 64-slice High Speed CT Scanner, and the area’s only 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imagine (MRI).
DMH Sports Medicine, an affiliate of Decatur Memorial Hospital, is a sports medicine program that provides health care needs to athletes as well as physically active individuals. The program specifically addresses and treats all musculo-skeletal injuries associated with sports and exercise programs that would prevent an individual’s normal physical function.
