David Oppenlander Joins DMH as new Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

OppenlanderJan. 13, 2010...David Oppenlander, CPA, has been named the new Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

He replaces outgoing Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer Gary Peacock who has retired after more than 11 years in this position at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

At Decatur Memorial Hospital, Oppenlander will oversee Accounting, Business Office, Patient Registration, Medical Records, Case Management, Information Systems, Human Resources and Decision Support/Managed Care.

Oppenlander has more than 15 years experience in health care financial services. He comes to DMH from OhioCare Health Systems, Inc., in Maumee, Ohio, where he served as Vice President and Treasurer. OhioCare Health Systems, Inc., consists of St. Luke’s Hospital, OhioCare Physicians, Inc., Care Enterprises, Inc., St. Luke’s Hospital Foundation and other integrated entities with an annual net revenue of nearly $150 million. He has also served as Vice President of Finance/Chief Financial Officer, Director of Internal Audit and Senior Financial Analyst all at Allen Medical Center in Oberlin, Ohio, and as a Financial Analyst at St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland.

Oppenlander received a master’s degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in accounting from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. He is a certified public accountant and a member of Healthcare Financial Management Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Financial Executives International.
