EARLY DETECTION CONNECTION

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Decatur, IL – DMH is sponsoring the “Early Detection Connection”, on October 20, which is also National Mammography Day. The Early Detection Connection will unlock the key to information about the importance of early diagnosis of breast cancer.

Participants will be able to drive through any one of 3 locations, from 6:30 – 9:00 a.m., to receive a Panera bagel, cream cheese, a gift, and valuable breast cancer information, all at no charge. This drive through process will not require anyone to have to get out of their cars – the information and gifts will be delivered right to their car window.

The 3 locations (South, North and East) will be:

  • DMH South Shores Imaging Center – 1689 S. Franklin Street
  • Panera Bread – 255 E. Ash Avenue
  • Ruby Tuesday – 4405 E. US Route 36

This event is being offered so that people will be able to quickly stop on their way to work, or their other day’s activities, during the early morning hours to make an easy “connection” from the comfort of their cars.

WEJT (105.1) and WYDS (93.1 – The Party) will do a live remote broadcast from the DMH South Shores Imaging Center on South Franklin Street during the event.

The DMH Early Detection Connection is made possible through funds from: DMH Women’s Health and Breast Center, DMH Cancer Care Institute, AstraZeneca, Komen Race for the Cure®, Genomic Health, Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois, and Panera Bread.
