Decatur Memorial Hospital Announces Title Sponsorship of 2008 Decatur Celebration
April 24, 2008
Decatur Memorial Hospital is the first Title Sponsor of the Decatur Celebration in the festival’s 23-year history.
The Title Sponsorship was unanimously approved by the Decatur Celebration, Inc., board of directors at a board meeting this morning. This year’s festival will now be called “Decatur Memorial Hospital Decatur Celebration”, recognizing the hospital’s commitment to the festival and the community.
“Several weeks ago, the Decatur Celebration made a plea to the Decatur community requesting business and industry to increase their sponsorship,” said Ken Smithmier, President & CEO, Decatur Memorial Hospital. “Today, Decatur Memorial Hospital has answered that request as the Title Sponsor giving $80,000 to the Decatur Celebration.”
“I’m delighted that Decatur Memorial Hospital has come forward to underwrite the Decatur Celebration’s expenses and keep the celebration free,” said Fred Puglia, Producer/Director, Decatur Celebration, Inc. “Putting on a festival of this magnitude requires a great deal of community support especially as costs continue to increase. Decatur Memorial Hospital stepped forward with the answer that we have been looking for!”
