DMH Weight Management Program Receives National Recognition
June 26, 2007
The DMH Weight Management program received the Outstanding Achievement Award for their dedication and passion in the care and treatment of obese patients at the annual Robard National Weight Management for Weight Loss conference held recently in Denver, Colorado.
Of the more than 70 programs represented, the DMH Weight Management program was one of five nationwide to win this award.
“These awards recognize the excellent staff associated with the program,” said Tim Miller, M.D., Medical Director, DMH Weight Management.
Participating programs were judged on strict criteria including program growth, passion to see their clients succeed, and the drive to step outside of the box.
“The DMH Weight Management program is committed to teamwork. They show great spirit while offering a very ethical and comprehensive program while adhering to the highest standard of care,” said Marcia Proffitt, business development manager, Robard Corporation.
Obesity is one of the most common and fastest growing epidemics in today’s society. DMH’s Weight Management program, located at the DMH Wellness Center, was opened in November 2004 to lead the way in tackling obesity. The team members are dedicated to supporting individuals effectively in their journey to lose weight. The program offers a unique approach to healthier living by focusing on behavior modification, exercise and healthy eating. The program offers three weight-loss levels which are all monitored by healthcare professionals and focus on behavior modification.
“Our program is different because we are medically monitored by a full team of healthcare professionals,” said Dr. Miller, “and our focus is on long term weight maintenance through lifestyle modifications.”
